Dr. Madhu Purushothaman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. After his MBBS degree from Madras Medical College, Dr. Madhu did his pediatric residency training at the Brookdale University Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Following his residency, Dr. Madhu was a clinical fellow in General Academic Pediatrics at the Harvard Medical School & Children’s Hospital Boston, which is ranked as America’s No.1 Children’s Hospital. During his clinical fellowship at the Harvard Medical School, Dr. Madhu has done seminal work in the field of pediatric environmental & school health.

Dr. Madhu has served as faculty in Pediatrics at prestigious universities in the United States like the University of Pittsburgh, Georgia Regents University, University of Texas Medical Branch and the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Madhu has served as the President of the Young Physician Section of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin – America’s second largest medical organization after the American Medical Association.

Dr. Madhu was honored by the American Medical Association with the Physician Recognition Award and by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin with the Young Physician Leader Award. He is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Madhu is also an avid medical writer, having authored numerous medical articles in the lay press, including ‘The Hindu’- India’s National Newspaper. He has also been a television news anchor and a medical TV journalist.

As Chairman of SCP Medical Foundation – the non-profit, parent trust of Glanis Hospital / Glanis Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr. Madhu Purushothaman utilizes his vast experience in academia and clinical practice in America’s best medical institutions to provide vision & advice for the charitable work of the Glanis institutions.
